Cut-up Kimono Jacket
One-size fits most with this fun and creative kimono-style jacket that is easily adjustable for larger sizes. It features oversized front pockets with a textured embellishing technique (see detail photo) and very simple stitchery on the pockets. We've used a variety of coordinating fat quarter cotton prints for the jacket body along with 2-1/2" strips for the lapels, cuffs and waist accent. The jacket can also be made of one fabric without the additional seaming for a quick 'n easy garment. 3/4 length sleeves can also be lengthened if you prefer full-length. Lots of different fabrics would be stunning in this creative style: batiks, rayon, cotton prints, silk, even printed or hand-dyed chiffon would be gorgeous! Lots of room to play with this artsy style.
